Mara Al Wasl – 51 was not just a project; it was a transformational journey. The primary objective was crystal clear – to breathe new life into an establishment that was struggling with a myriad of issues. The existing Mara Al Wasl – 51 faced a multitude of challenges, including customer complaints, malfunctioning A/C systems, decor issues, structural concerns, and improper design. Recognizing the need for a fresh start, the vision for the new Mara concept emerged – one that would redefine the café in an entirely different way.
One of the defining features of the Mara Al Wasl – 51 project was the stringent time frame within which it had to be executed. As a leading café in the Dubai market, Mara Al Wasl – 51 could not afford to shut its doors even for a single day. Aujan Interiors took on the challenge of renovating the café while minimizing disruption to its daily operations. The plan was ambitious yet precise: a 14-day timeframe to complete the project without significantly affecting the café’s day-to-day operations.
To achieve this, Aujan Interiors devised a strategic approach. Initially, the operation was confined to the terrace area, allowing outdoor dining to continue. Subsequently, the indoor dining area was closed for three days, during which the kitchen underwent extensive modifications, rectifications, and renovations. This required a round-the-clock operation to ensure the project’s timely completion.
The Mara Al Wasl – 51 project stands out due to its exceptional design elements. The marble-clad counter, featuring a stunning blend of white and black, serves as a focal point that embodies both high-end and functionality. Additionally, the curved shape staircase adds a unique architectural feature to the café. Its surface is adorned with textured cement micro-cement, a testament to the meticulous attention paid to even the smallest details.
The project was not without its challenges. The 14-day time frame, coupled with the café’s need to remain operational, presented substantial hurdles. The restrictions on noisy work during the day, given the café’s location within an occupied building, required careful planning. The bustling street outside further complicated logistics, making it difficult to facilitate loading and unloading of materials.
However, Aujan Interiors rose to the challenge by coordinating closely with suppliers, marble craftsmen, texture paint experts, steelworkers, and tile suppliers. Daily meetings on-site ensured that everyone was aligned with the project’s objectives. The client’s active involvement, as well as regular visits by the designer, created a collaborative atmosphere where solutions were crafted in real-time.Sustainability was an integral part of the Mara Al Wasl – 51 project. Green building regulations were meticulously followed, ensuring the project exceeded industry standards for sustainability. Locally available materials were chosen to meet the tight project schedule, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transportation.Upon completion, the transformation of Mara Al Wasl – 51 had a profound impact on the café’s end users. Sales increased by a staggering 20-25% or more, a testament to the project’s success. The revamped space not only provided a visual feast but also created an inviting atmosphere that resonated with customers, making them feel welcome and eager to return.
The Mara Al Wasl – 51 project has contributed significantly to the advancement of commercial design. It showcases the transformative power of design and construction, emphasizing the importance of meticulous planning and collaboration in achieving remarkable results. The project’s emphasis on sustainability also sets a precedent for environmentally responsible design practices in the industry.
